DAY 24: 40 DAY RAW FOOD CHALLENGE

I have not packed my dabbas or planned for the today last night as I should have. Again I will have to dig into the fruit basket and fridge and prepare a salad out of whatever is available.

I have to rush as I don’t want to be late for office. I make a quick juice out of grapes, pepper and the lemon, ginger and amla juice I have stored in the fridge. It is quite enjoyable though it turns out a bit sour as the grapes are the seasons last.

I pack some grapes and slices of Tomato. Can’t think of anything else L I put some thought into the salad and this is what I come up with:

The Travelling Foodie's Summer Mix

The Travelling Foodie’s Summer Mix

Ingredients:

Red Cabbage finely chopped

Normal Cabbage finely chopped

Red, Yellow & Green Bell Pepper

Cucumber diced

White onion finely chopped

Sweet Lime (Mosambi) peeled

All ingredients in more or less equal quantity

For the Dressing:

Honey – 1 tbsp

Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

Salt – ½ tsp

1 petal of Garlic sliced

Pepper powder

Chilli Flakes

Method: Mix all the ingredients. This one can be premixed too. It will not lose too much of its freshness.

In office I have a big glass of Pomegranate juice and unfortunately start getting loosies. I am ultra worried as I have planned a weekend trip and am leaving early today. Fortunately they stop after 2-3 trips to the loo. Must have been the pomegranate!

I have some cucumber sticks and Rajkot chutney in the evening and leave office early as I have to go to Bandra to my Mama Mami’s place, it being Thursday before heading to Thane to pick up a few things and then finally home to pack. It is a ritual I don’t like to break. At their place I have some gila bhel which my Mama has lovingly got for me. My Mama is 83 so I make it an exception and eat the bhel long with the sev. Fortunately everything else is raw! When I do, I realise I have not packed my swimsuit. I jump out of bed but in vain as even after a lot of frantic searching, I don’t find it. I find some oooooold swimsuit which I angrily throw into the overnight bag. A dejected me plonks into bed again and prays Day 24 ends and that sleep envelopes me quickly as it is way past my sleeping time
