DAY 28: 40 DAY RAW FOOD CHALLENGE

Raw Papaya Salad

I wake up on time today but I am in no mood to pack my dabbas. Looks like the three days of pampering has spoilt me! I make myself a juice of Mulberry and live wax apple (green Jaam fruit) juice. This is quite filling as I have not strained the juice. I pack rest of the mulberries and a guava to have mid-morning.

At lunch I order for a Raw Papaya salad to have along with the Solkadhi I have brought from home. The dressing is quite runny and there are more peanuts than Papaya in the salad and I am quite disappointed. The dressing also looks and tastes more like Maggie hot and sweet sauce than a natural one :(

But here is the recipe of what I think I got in the name of Raw Papaya Salad

Raw Papaya Salad

Ingredients:

Raw Papaya Grated

Longitudinally sliced yellow, red and green bell peppers

Peanuts

For the dressing:

Maggie Hot & Sweet ketchup

Oregano

Chilli flakes

solkadhi

Method: Mix all the ingredients together.

It doesn't really taste that bad but I am upset that my effort to stay off preservatives went for a toss. Anyway, I have the salad with the Aamras and Solkadhi for company. I have a lot of the dressing left with a lot of peanuts that I couldn't finish, so I stuff it into one of my dabbas and save for the evening.

I call for a gila bhel in the evening and I am full.

I am staying over with a dear cousin so looking forward to an evening of drinking, chatting and letting my hair down basically. I have a Vodka with orange juice. We grate a papaya and add the morning's dressing and peanuts to it. It doesn't taste as good as it does with the raw papaya, but it doesn't taste very bad either. I make my patent mint chutney (with raw mango, jaggery, cumin & green chilli) and we have it with some cucumber sticks.

We chat away into the night and somewhere in between we decide to book tickets for a movie called "Nude" for tomorrow. Since it is a 10.00am show, we reluctantly switch off the lights on Day 28 and go to sleep way past midnight.
