I snooze my alarm a couple of times before I realise that Mangal is not there and that I have do everything on my own today. I jump out of bed but I am already a bit late. I make quick juice of green Grapes and a dash of amla, lemon, ginger juice (which I saved yesterday before adding sugar) and pepper powder. I quite like it. I randomly chop and cut a few veggies and fruits and stuff them into boxes hoping I have enough for the day!
Today I make an Oriental Salad, one of the few you can marinate in advance and it will not lose its flavour or texture.
Oriental Salad
Ingredients:
Red cabbage finely chopped
Cabbage finely chopped
Red, Yellow & Green Bell Pepper, diced
Broccolli finely chopped
Sesame Seeds - 1/2 tsp
For the dressing:
Grated ginger & Garlic 1/4 tsp (Don't add too much of this as it gets very pungent)
Soya sauce - 1 tsp
Maggie Hot & Sweet sauce - 1 tsp
Chilli sauce - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Method: Mix everything together. This salad tastes better with marination for at least a couple of hours.
I have this at lunch with aamras. Mid-morning I have a couple of figs and chikoos. For evening, I have carried the usual Cucumber sticks with the mint chutney.
Go out today for dinner at Pop Tates with a friend and cheat a bit. Between the two of us, we finish a couple of Ginger and Lemon grass Martinis (at least the name gives a feeling of having a lot of raw natural food) and a Mojito. We gorge on a Caesar Salad and a Burnt Corn and Dried Tomato salad. I had something cooked after a really long time and this salad tasted heavenly! I promptly remove the croutons from the Caesar salad to make myself feel less guilty :P
After I get back home I prepare for tomorrow as I was really hard pressed for time today morning. What I made, I will share with you only tomorrow. They say if you practice anything for 21 days, it becomes a habit. Even if I am made to follow the raw food diet for a couple of lifetimes, I do not see it getting anywhere close to becoming a habit. Thinking thus, I put an end to Day 21.
