DAY 19: 40 DAY RAW FOOD CHALLENGE

I wake up tensed. My mind must be a sieve. Whatever I have read in the past few days seems to have flown right out. Had decided I will finish the exam by noon but that is not possible now as I don't remember anything :( I feel saturated but empty headed at the same time if that is possible!

Stress makes me doubly hungry so I keep extra stuff ready today. I know I am going to keep going back to the kitchen time and again. Morning juice is a combination of Cucumber and Orange.

I make two filling salads for lunch. The Poha (puffed rice) salad I have made a couple of times earlier And a Green Peas Salad which turns out quite yummy. This is an original and here's the recipe...

The Travelling Foodie's Green Peas Salad

Ingredients:

1 big katori Green Peas shelled

1/2 small katori grated Coconut

1 green Chilli

Salt to taste

Sugar to taste (not more than 1/4 tsp)

1/4 small katori Raisins

Chopped coriander for garnishing

Method: Dry grind the coconut, green chilli, sugar, salt coarsely. Add it to the Green Peas. Also add the raisins and garnish it with the coriander.

The Poha (puffed rice) salad salad I will not explain in detail as I have done that in a previous post. It is made by mixing chopped tomato, onion and adding salt, a pinch of sugar, lemon juice and the soaked & drained poha to it and seasoning this with cumin, hing and green chilli. This is a very basic but filling salad.

I also make some solkadhi today as it is a hot day.

I nibble on chikoos, and some kurmura when I get hungry and on some dry fruit and nuts in the evening. Afternoon comes and goes and I still keep warding off my exam.

By 7.00 I am so fed up that I decide to attempt the exam. The fear is partly due to it being ages that I have given any exam and partly because I have missed quite a few sessions. I finish the 1 hr exam in 40 minutes (It was a MCQ format so I got to know which questions I goofed up instantaneously) so I recheck if I have attempted all questions and submit. Voila I have passed and that too with a decent score of 78%! I am over the moon.

I finish the exam by 8 pm and realise I need to go grocery shopping if I have to survive the next day as I am very low on supplies. I call up a friend and do just that. It is time to crash out by the time I come back. I organise the veggies I have picked in the fridge and crash out as I have decided to join a few friends on a mini trek tomorrow morning.
