DAY 15: 40 DAY RAW FOOD CHALLENGE

Too much drinking is making my brain hover around mocktail combinations! I make a virgin Pina colada for my morning juice by mixing Pineapple and coconut.

Lunch today is a salad made up of everything lying in my fridge that I want to finish :P So I am calling it a lettuce & sprouts hawaiian salad as I add pineapple to it.

The Travelling Foodie's Lettuce & Sprouts Hawaiian Salad

Ingredients:

1/2 cup Lettuce shredded

1/4 cup Sprouts

a few twigs of Microgreens

1/4 cup Corn (boiled :()

1/4 cup Pineapple (hence Hawaiian) diced

1/4 cup Apple diced

For dressing: Lemon, salt, Pepper

Method: Add the dressing just before you are going to eat the salad else the lettuce will go limp and you will not enjoy the salad as much. I have this and Aamras for dessert.

My days are going by in a breeze. I have absolutely no time to breathe today. Too much work in office. My exam is looming large on my head and I have not even begun studying :'(

I munch on chikoo, orange, half an apple and cucumber, carrot sticks with mint chutney. Somehow I have not yet tired of this. This is a season of red, juicy, sweet carrots and not the orange dry ones so they definitely taste better raw. And the other reason could be that I alternate the dip. In the evening I have a sukha bhel which has so much salt in it that my throat hurts!

I am still office late evening and a colleague suggests we go out for a drink at Cafe Delhi Heights. I promise myself I will just have one basic, organic drink and no more. I select a lemonade infused with jaggery and ginger. Sadly when the drink arrives it is far from what they promised. I know I should have fought with them but I just didn't have the energies. In spite or repeatedly telling the person who took our orders I want no sugar, my drink is loaded with sugar... so much that I can feel the crunch of the crystals lysing at the bottom. And instead of using fresh lemon they have used a lemon iced tea concentrate and just added grated ginger to this. On top of this they have added more sugar. I feel so guilty about this. But like I said, I should have pointed this out to them. It was not even a crowded evening for them. The bartender was just being plain lazy. Anyway what's done can't be undone. I should have not have had my drink but I hate wasting food, so down went the drink. My friend had ordered for a Mojito which came without sugar by the way.

Day 15 ends with terrible sense of guilt. I should stop going out so frequently I tell myself and go to sleep.
