DAY2: 40 DAY RAW FOOD CHALLENGE

I wake up worried that my system would still be in purge mode and that my stomach may not be able to hold any food down... But besides feeling slightly weak, everything else seems to be in order. Yay! Day two starts with Watermelon, Mint & Coriander juice. You see I am not too fond of green juices. For a very long time my Aai used to force me to have Dudhi and mint juice every morning till I developed a nausea for everything liquid and green! But that was a long time ago so I need to get more creative in putting the ingredients together, maybe I will develop a taste for them too. But for now I mostly stick to some fruit or other with maybe a small portion of green in it.

I am feeling a little heavy headed while leaving for office and I start worrying that my yesterday's bout of acidity will spill over into today. Luckily it doesn't. By 4ish my headache disappears. For lunch I have carried the salad I so lovingly made yesterday and didn't eat because of the nausea. It is a finely diced red cabbage & onion salad with roasted pumpkin and Kohlrabi I have added a bit of red chilli powder to the roasted vegetables but I have overdone the spice and I am unable to eat it. The red cabbage and onion with the salt and lemon dressing does not taste as good. But fortunately I have some Sasav made of banana & grapes. Sasav is a very Goan / Karwari dish where you add ripe fruits like banana, jackfruit, mangoes, grapes to a chutney made of coconut, red- chilli, jaggery, salt and mustard seeds.

In between meals, I munch on an assortment of dry and fresh fruits like Grapes, Jamun, Banana and Orange. For evening I have carried the Rajkot Chutney to give company to the carrot & cucumber sticks and some coconut pieces.

I am glad to finish Day 2 without any mishaps and successfully.
